In the Hebrew Bible ( Genesis and Hosea) how come Jacob came out the winner in his fight with the ( supposed)?
Angel? After all, didn't the Angel have the added advantage of some mighty strong wings? Wonderful paintings of this scene abound!

Not in the way of trying to defeat, but trying to learn the will, and fighting to "hold the Lord" like in a way to say to grasp him and learn his will;and fighting your flesh who wants to quit the fight and your spirit who wants to continue
he won because he had won the battle of his flesh by wrestling through the nigh, after he had beaten his flesh, there was no more reason to wrestle
