Exterior Tru
Torn carpets and upholstery in the girls' room. The wooden floor has tru-ply 252 stamped on it.?
The house was built in 1962. Is it safe to use exterior grade subfloor in the room. I always thought it had added chemicals in outdoor use. My daughter is 6 was walking on things and a little worried. I need to replace the floor with an interior year?
It is perfectly fine for indoor use. No worries about your daughter. You do not need to replace it. The only thing that makes quality Outdoor and thus safe for outdoor use is the glue that is used to bond the layers together. The adhesive will not fail to allow the layers and discard if it is wet or rained on, especially during the construction process. I learned this is a time when building a shed. I put the plywood on the shingle roof and was later the same day. Unfortunately, it started raining just after I had plywood nailed all but I had shingles before. The glue in the cons-plated to let go and the layers were then curly and loose. A big mess for me! I learned the hard way, the main difference between plywood inside and out that day. They make a pressure-treated type of plywood, but it is extremely doubtful that this is what is on your floor. It is very likely just run regularly external quality plywood mill and not harmful at all. I'd be very surprised if pressure-treated plywood is widely available in 1962 or at all for the construction of the house.
